The CALRE Working Group on Gender Equality will meet in the Murcian Parliament and the Azores Assembly
Cartagena, 21 January 2018
The president of the Regional Assembly, Rosa Peñalver, has participated in the plenary of the Conference of Presidents of Autonomous Parliaments, COPREPA, in which the president of the Canarian Parliament, Carolina Darias, president of this Conference, has been unanimously elected.
The president of the Assembly congratulated the president of the Canarian Parliament for "the ambitious agenda proposed that, in addition to strengthening relations between parliaments and improving their respective work dynamics, will serve to enhance the presence in Europe of legislative assemblies. A necessary boost because they directly collect the voice of citizens, their plurality and diversity. "
Peñalver has taken advantage of the plenary meeting of COPREPA to meet with some of the presidencies that will be part of the Working Group on Gender Equality of the Conference of European Regional Assemblies, CALRE, which she coordinates this year. In this regard, she has advanced that the Working Group will meet in "the Murcian Parliament and the Assembly of the Azores, which currently holds CALRE presidency. We want to add all perspectives and realities in this Working Group because when we advance in Equality we have to do it all, and not all the regions of Europe are in the same position as Spain in this area ".
